THEORY FOR VOCALISTS - PART II (TFV2): “Great, I drew a dog with my dots. How do I draw an apple?”
The follow-up to TFV Part I, in this course definitions, explanations and applications of musical nomenclature will be pursued in further detail, including introduction to melodic/harmonic functionality, in-depth examination of time signature and meter, and proper use of symbols used to label scores- Once you’ve connected a few dots, you’re ready to explore the dot itself, and begin to make your own pictures with it!
Prerequisite: for REGISTERING participants: Completion of TFV Part 1
DURATION: 3-week session (6 classes): Two, 90-minute classes per week.

SESSION 1: NOV 3-19, WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS, 6:30-8.

SESSION 2: JAN 5-21 2011,WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS, 6:30-8
$186/session ($31/class; payable in full at time of online registration).
Audit and drop-ins $20/class, 4-class limit.

Class requirements: pencil preferable (participants will be writing music notation by hand- no electronic music notation software or video recording devices of any kind, please- we‘re learning by ‘doin‘ it the old way‘: hand-to-paper. Discovered video recording will result in participant removal from class/session, expulsion from course, and fees paid will be forfeited. Regsitered participants must have ability to attend all classes.
